Belaying Pin
Traditional belaying pins for traditional small craft.
Standard issue in sailing versions of the Southwester Dory, these pins are hand-turned in the USA with oak handles and maple pins. The pins are 1/2" in diameter and 4-1/2" long. The sculpted handle is 3-1/2" long. Used as cleats, they can handle the highest loads you're apt to encounter in any small boat.
These belaying pins would work well in any of our traditional small craft, including the Skerry and the lug-rigged version of the Northeaster Dory. A nice traditional touch, and absolutely functional.
Shipped without a finish coating. You can use them as-is (as we do), or finish them with a good marine-grade tung oil or even varnish.
